I am blogging everyday (or nearly everyday) on The Daily Stoic.
Yesterday - Corralling The Unnecessary
We must cut out the unnecessary things in life. I’ve done this with social media. I remember getting headaches while I scrolled Twitter while riding in the car. At the moment I decided I needed to cut it out. I wasn’t getting anything of value from scrolling the feed. I still have Twitter, but check it only once a day and usually for work. I also have an Instagram account where I connect with friends and keep tabs on new craft beer that is dropping. I am not on there mindless scrolling or posting pictures on there. I use social media for what is valuable. I’m trying to do the same thing with other aspects of my life.
Today - Where It Counts
Inward change is where we need to be different. Having a different outwardly look doesn’t matter as much. This is why I’ve never been much for top of the line brands or clothing. I go for what’s practical. Of course, there was a time I was picked on for the clothes I wore. I changed because of that. I think I changed for the better and gained more confidence. The questions was if I was already standing out and by changing the clothes I blended in more. An interesting thought.
