I am blogging everyday (or nearly everyday) on The Daily Drucker: 366 Days of Insight and Motivation for Getting the Right Things Done.
The action point is to read a book and asks what did I learn. How can I put the knowledge to work? Last year I decided I needed to read more, so an hour of my evening is now dedicated to reading a book. I’ve churned through quite a few books over the last year and I don’t regret it. I’ve learned a lot and applied some of the knowledge to my daily life. The current book I’m reading is Human Hacking by Chris Hadnagy. One of the things mentioned in the book is having his entire team take a DISC assessment so that he can identify how to communicate to people.
I’ve heard of DISC before and always thought it would be a good idea for my team. I’ve just never pursued it until today. I asked my boss if I could do it for my team and he was open to the idea. This will hopefully help us grow as a team and me as a person.
