I am blogging everyday (or nearly everyday) on The Daily Drucker: 366 Days of Insight and Motivation for Getting the Right Things Done.

The action point asks if me and organization are change agents? and what steps are taken to both change and balance change with stability. The company I work at is looking to be a disrupter in the healthcare space. I’m not sure what steps are taken but I think it starts with hiring good people. For me personally, I’ve tried to be an agent for change in security and now management. I am fortunate enough to join a security team that values that. I’ve proposed new and different ways of doing things from a security standpoint and have been supported in those efforts.

From a management perspective it’s been different. I have gotten a lot more push back on things I want to do around hiring people. I’ve had to concede and tone back the hiring process I initially wanted. Each time though I am pushing the boundaries just a little bit. Ultimately, what will make change happen is results. That for me is to continue to develop my team and hire high quality talent.
