Need for a Harmony of Interests
I am blogging everyday (or nearly everyday) on The Daily Drucker: 366 Days of Insight and Motivation for Getting the Right Things Done.
The action point asks to send an email to the chairman of a mutual fund I have shares in and ask for proof that I have not been harmed by the practice of investments prior to 2004. It’s 2021, so I’m not sure how well that works. I think what today’s Drucker is getting at is that businesses need to do things in a way that is beneficial to both sides or any side for that matter. They should not get an advantage over the individual. Which is interesting because in my experience I’ve seen departments like HR take advantage of people asking for lower than their worth, simply because they don’t know where they should fall in the companies pay scale. I’ve also seen it do other shady things to save a buck. That’s probably why the HR department is not usually a favorite within companies.
